A group of us went to the last one; it was a really great time and opportunity to worship God and hear a good message alongside young adults from other parts of the Bay Area. As with all of the events in S.F., or even the ones in Pacifica, let me know if you need a ride and we'll get something worked out.

Church in the Park

August 23rd, 2008
11am-3pm
Boedekker Park, S.F.

Thanks to all who went to Church in the Park last week, for being so open to the experience and willing to jump in. We ended up serving hundreds of hot dogs and portions of nachos out to the homeless of the Ternderloin, while getting to listen to some great messages and worship music. It was truly a blessing to experience and I hope more people will join us this time round.
(p.s. sorry guys I originally wrote the 30th, but it turns out it's the 23rd!)

Also, we're talking about doing an end of summer kickball game and picnic with TYG (New Life's youth group) sometime toward the end of August, but nothing has been confirmed yet. I'll send out an email as soon as I know the details.

Finally, come September, (hopefully) we'll be starting weekly Bible studies. I'm still figuring out the logistics with Pastor Jonathan, but it would be really helpful if you could all pray & think about it and let me know whether that's something you're interested in doing so I can get an idea of how big the group will be. Hope to see you at some of these things!

Before the game there will be testimonies from Giants players and worship with the Cornerstone Band. If you're interested in joining us, please email Alisa Zook sooner rather than later!
For information about it on the Giant's website, click here.

Church in the Park

July 26th, 11am-4pm
Boeddecker Park, SF

Church in the Park is an outdoor church service that takes place on the last Saturday of every month in a Boeddecker Park located in the Tenderloin. An outreach ministry to the homeless, it typically features a live band, The Word, lunch, clothing and toiletry kits for distribution to homeless.

Anyone is welcome and there is generally something for them to do in terms of work, but what is equally important is to have as many of God's children in the Park to pray, worship and minister to those who are hungry!

If you would like to participate please contact me as soon as possible so I can start organizing carpooling. It should be an amazing experience and is something that could be cool to try and do as a group monthly.

A First Post

Hi guys!

Just getting this up and running, so not much to say. Thanks to all who came to the first Young Adults Group meeting! All in all it was pretty successful I'd say, angsty bees aside (SO sorry, once again, Kyle D. for the sting, and thanks to Micah and Chris for the moral support while I was trying to smoke those things into a calmer state). For those who weren't able to make it, here's a quick update of what we talked about while we weren't eating or playing Catch Phrase:

  • Our Goal: Basically we're hoping the Young Adults Group will be a forum for Pacifica's Christian young adults/college students to meet each other, do things together, and study the Word of God together.  While a ministry of New Life Christian Fellowship and based in Pacifica, the idea is that it will be young adult group comprised of and available to any college students and twenty somethings interested, not just ones from New Life or Pacifica.

  • During the summer we're going to be meeting every other week (more or less) for volunteer activites/just to hang out to get to know one another

  • In August, while we will continue to do activies, for those who are interested there will be a weekly or bi-weekly (depending on schedules) Bible study starting.

Okay I think that's about it. I'll continue to update this site with dates of activites. I also have made an ongoing prayer list to the right -->, as it's really important that we're not just hanging out with each other, but praying for each other too! Let me know if you have any and I'll add them :)

Thanks for visiting & God Bless!

p.s. If you're interested in joining us in any of the activities, and you know I do not have your contact info, please email it to me at eliz.cahill@gmail.com
